Vampire Overlord System in the Apocalypse

Chapter 60 - Exploring A Dungeon Overnight!

-----

After evolving, Noah had noticed within his Attribute Panel that some things were now added, such as \'Blood Core Rank\', something he did not have before evolving.

"Interesting… So the System has adapted itself to even show you such statistics… Indeed, that is your current Blood Core Rank!" said the Blood Progenitor with a smug tone of voice inside of Noah\'s mind.

"Blood Core Rank?" asked Noah.

"In Abyss, the world where I originally belong to, every Vampiric being had a Blood Core which we cultivated by consuming other\'s blood or by doing several other Cultivation Techniques… Whenever we reached a threshold and surpassed our Blood Core Limits, the Blood Core Level would increase… You have evolved once, so your Level must be 2… My Blood Core Rank used to be Level 20! You\'re but an ant compared to my former self!" said the Blood Progenitor.

"So that\'s how it is… I see. But does that mean that in this world, the way to cultivate becomes different? Through the System and Attribute Value Cores, I can easily skip the steps you Vampires need to do to become stronger…" said Noah.

"That is right, you\'re damned world filled with chaos and monsters is an amazing world indeed! Any Vampire with a Blood Core would be able to easily nourish their Blood Cores through the consumption of Attribute Value Cores! Luckily for you, and perhaps unluckily for my Vampire kin, Attribute Value Cores did not exist in my world, and I do not remember the humans we killed from the rifts even dropped any of those," said the Blood Progenitor.

"I see, so this chaotic world filled with suffering is beneficial for cultivation of blood cores…" said Noah.

"Yes, you didn\'t even need to cultivate for years to reach Level 2, which took me 3 years, and that\'s counting that I was a talented child when I was young!" said the Blood Progenitor.

"Three years…? I see… Well, I suppose all the power locked inside my Blood Core from your original power is also helping me breakthrough faster…" said Noah.

"Hmph… Such a talentless ant like you having all of this power given to you! This is truly frustrating! It feels as if I\'ve swallowed a bitter bug!" roared the Blood Progenitor.

"Anyways, are you going to explain to me how to make a Blood Core for them?" asked Noah.

"Ggrr…! I will not tell you anything! …yet. Grow stronger and I might!" roared the Blood Progenitor, as he faded away from Noah\'s mind.

"What a pain in the ass…" sighed Noah.

After a few preparations, Noah and his party equipped the new clothes and light-weight mass-produced Armor that Arthur has brought, which was mostly black colored, alongside masks to cover their faces.

The group did not even cross through the gate and jumped over the ceiling of the Military School Buildings, disappearing into the highly technological city night.

"Which Dungeon are we exploring now?" asked Iris with some enthusiasm, the night was young and any time she spent with Noah made her happy, even if it were by killing hordes of monsters.

"The closest E-Rank Dungeon within our route…" said Noah.

"The closest E-Rank Dungeon… Ah! The Bat Caves?" asked Arthur.

"That should do. Bats, huh? I guess they have some relation to us Vampiric beings?" wondered Noah.

"Well none of us look like one, nor we can turn into one like mainstream media makes up Vampires to be…" said Arthur.

"Are Bats related to Vampires somehow?" asked Iris confused about the topic.

"Well, forget it, let\'s go," said Noah, as the group kept jumping over the building\'s roofs until reaching an open field, where a blue-colored gate floated in midair.

The open field was being protected by soldiers all around, and there were even some small Hunter Shops that sold potions and basic items for any passerby Hunter.

"Ah, these are shops from my father\'s group…" said Arthur.

"Oh, I see. If the sellers recognize you, will they call you Young Master Arthur?" asked Noah mockingly.

"T-That\'s… Well… maybe…" sighed Arthur.

"Anyways, here we are…" said Noah.

"I\'m so excited! I want to demolish some monsters… Turn them into minced meat!" said Iris as her eyes gleamed with crimson light.

"Let\'s go," said Noah, walking with his group towards the guards, as they glanced at them with some suspiciousness.

"What with the black costumes? Is there some kind of disguise party going on around here?" asked one of the guards, as the one at his side burst into laughter.

Noah and his party silently showed their Student Cards, as the soldiers glanced at them after laughing without being able to provoke them.

"Students from that school… at this hour? Well, it\'s the weekend I guess… You can pass, make sure to not do anything stupid kids," laughed the guard.

As Noah simply glanced back at him with his Vampiric Eyes of Hypnosis.

"Sure thing…" he said, as the man suddenly fell to the ground in shock!

"W-What happened?" asked the guard at his side, without noticing what Noah did.

"Ah! I-I… I do not remember… What… What happened?" asked the guard that fell into the ground, forgetting the gleaming crimson eyes of Noah.

"Noah-sama, what did you do?" asked Iris in confusion.

"Ah, I gave him a little scare… Anyone with weak wills will succumb to my eyes… I gave him a little shock, a scare, and after that, I deleted such experience, only leaving him surprised of not knowing what happened…" said Noah.

"Y-You can even do such a thing with your eye skill?" asked Arthur.

"Impressive…" said Jon.

"Well, only very momentarily, what I did there was the limit of this Skill as of now. Do not expect me to go asking every enemy we encounter to kill themselves or something, it will not work. Emerald was completely ignoring my eyes until the very last moments where he was already drowning in despair… Strong people have naturally strong wills," said Noah.

"I see…" said Iris.

"But monsters are different… So I will try it out around," said Noah.

"Ooh~ I am looking forward to that!" said Iris.

The party quickly entered the blue-colored gate, as it suddenly turned crimson red.

The guards did not notice, as they were not paying attention to the gate, and were even rather sleepy.

Noah glanced at his new surroundings, as the busy city night environment changed into that of enormous cave sections, with ceilings as tall as fifty meters, covered in magic crystals of various colors, ready to be mined… if they were not so high, stuck to the ceiling, even strong hunters were perhaps not able to fly, so most of them would never try to mine such magic crystals from the ceiling above their heads.

"GRRYYAAARRR…!"

Without even a minute to pass since they entered the dungeon, ten gigantic, over four-meters-large black-furred bats came flying towards Noah\'s party, their jaws were large and sharp, filled with razor-sharp teeth, their wings were long and even had sharp black claws, alongside their feet!

Alongside this, they held enormous ears and large crimson eyes, these were Giant Black Bats, E-Rank Monsters!

"So the show begins!" said Noah, smiling, as he immediately darted towards his enemy, feeling his entire body lighter and faster due to his evolution into a Vampire Noble!

Slash! Slash! Slash!

Noah\'s hands grew monstrous crimson claws, slashing through the large Bat leading the other nine bats, slicing its left-wing, and making it fall into the ground, as the bat struggled using its claws, but Noah did not even falter, slicing through its flesh, and eliminating it in a few seconds!

Poof!

The bloody corpse turned into black smoke as Noah\'s first E-Rank Core was dropped from it.
