The Empress's Gigolo

Chapter 706 - Breaking Out (Part 2)

Chapter 706: Breaking Out (Part 2)

“It’s the same over here.”

“There’s a hole in the north side of the wall, and it looks like he escaped from there.”

In the warehouse where Ren Baqian had pierced through the wall and killed some people, two heavily armed teams were conducting a search.

“This is Group 3, Team 4. The target is no longer in Warehouse 6 and is heading north.”

“Roger—be more vigilant.”

A few minutes later:

“Team 4, please reply immediately.”

“Team 4, roger. Please proceed.”

“The target has been spotted at Warehouse 38. Team 5 and 6 of Group 2 are already setting up interception points at Warehouse 25 to reduce his operational radius. Your task is to join Team 5 and hurry to Warehouse 25.”

“Roger.”

“Be careful—the opponent is very good at fighting in confined spaces. Don’t let him get close to you.”

“We know.”

“Did you all hear that? Let’s move to Warehouse 25. Go, go, go!”

They had just arrived at Warehouse 9 when they heard the sound of gunfire, but it died off in less than a minute.

At this moment, Ren Baqian was in a warehouse turning over the dead bodies.

He didn’t expect them to deploy their forces so quickly and had been ambushed the moment he came out.

Although he could block bullets now, even if he were to grow two more hands, he wouldn’t be able to stop all the bullets if more than ten people simultaneously fired at him. Furthermore, these bullets were from automatic rifles.

Fortunately, there were many different types of boxes and various equipment in the warehouse, which acted like obstacles to the soldiers.

“Tsk, tsk, this chest muscle! Oh, it’s a woman!” Ren Baqian was surprised. It was a blond woman with hollow looking eyes who had failed to react in time when he stabbed her in the forehead earlier.

It didn’t matter to him whether it was a male or female soldier as they were all dead people, but he was surprised that they were mixed together.

There were two female soldiers, and the rest were male soldiers.

The smoke grenades that he wanted weren’t found.

Then again, smoke grenades weren’t useful to these soldiers and would instead affect their vision, so there was no reason to bring them along.

They also didn’t wear bullet-proof vests.

Wearing them would impede their movements, so it made sense not to wear them.

Instead, he found two flashbangs.

Ren Baqian hung the flashbangs on his body, carried his spear, and ran through the warehouses like a phantom.

After crashing through a few warehouses, Ren Baqian suddenly stopped.

He seemed to hear a sound.

He quietly jumped up on top of a rack, stretched his neck to take a look, and saw some soldiers advancing slowly in a tactical formation. They were constantly looking around and alert to everything nearby.

Ren Baqian dropped back to the ground, walked forward while holding the spear upside down, and looked for a suitable ambush location.

After a while, he came to a shelf that was different from the other half empty shelves. It was full of things and could block him from their view. The soldiers would be facing him directly once they turned past the corner, so this was an excellent location for an ambush.

Subsequently, Ren Baqian waited quietly for the prey to fall into his paws and still had time to think about what to eat for dinner at night.

He could only think about it and nothing more.

At that moment, the encirclement was finally completed with thousands of soldiers surrounding all 38 warehouses.

There was a squeaking sound as the main doors of the warehouse complex were opened. A large number of soldiers entered Warehouse 38 and Warehouse 15, which was where this group of soldiers had just passed by. After they finished searching, they went through the broken wall created by Ren Baqian and headed toward Warehouse 16 and 37.

Ren Baqian was in Warehouse 17.

Hearing the doors of Warehouse 16 being opened, Ren Baqian quickly realized that these people were ready, which was why they acted aggressively.

Ren Baqian hesitated for a moment when he heard footsteps nearby. Then, he quietly retreated to Warehouse 18 and fled in another direction. Soon after, he heard the sound of search teams coming from another direction.

Ren Baqian trembled, changed his position, and peeped through a gap in the doors. He could see soldiers with their guns pointed in this direction. Although he couldn’t see the full scene through the gap, he could see many soldiers within his restricted field of view. Furthermore, he saw machine guns, which posed a big threat to him.

“Have I become a sure catch?” Ren Baqian pouted. It looked like he had made a mistake by choosing these warehouses. Even if he had the protection of his Heaven-grade weapons and spiritual soul, there were so many enemies that he would be riddled with gunshot wounds if he were to rush out.

How had the practitioners of Great Xia died back then? Ren Baqian’s death wouldn’t look any better than theirs.

The movements of the soldiers were faster than expected.

Should he consider surrendering?

He didn’t know whether the other side was prepared to offer him any incentives to surrender. This was an interesting option to consider.

Would the empress beat him up?

Anyway, he was forced by the circumstances!

On second thought, surrendering didn’t seem to be a bad idea.

They could never torture him since he didn’t fear pain!

Although he was surrounded, he didn’t feel nervous and still had time to daydream.

“However, it looks as if there’s no need to surrender now.”

His eyes brightened when he saw the rows of oil barrels lying in a corner of the warehouse.

“The person inside, listen up. You have already been surrounded and will be given ten minutes to consider whether to surrender or be sent to meet God!”

Everybody stared at the row of warehouses in front. Since there was no way out, they all believed that even an army would surrender in this situation, let alone one person.

In a building in the distance, the commander of the base was standing in a room. He looked through the glass panels in that direction as he slowly chomped on his cigar.

“The outcome is a foregone conclusion!” The old man was smiling as he muttered, “Those yellow-skinned monkeys are really capable and their biomedical technology is so advanced, but with the capture of this experimental subject, our country can soon catch up to their technology. Our country is truly the greatest.”

Back in the warehouse, Ren Baqian recognized the voice of the person who was offering him the option to surrender. It belonged to the brown-haired man from the speedboat.

However, Ren Baqian had no time to pay attention to him as he was busy looking for something.

Once Ren Baqian was ready, he opened a few barrels of diesel to pour into other barrels and then kicked down more than 20 barrels of diesel. The diesel came out of the barrels and flowed all over the ground.

He slowly wrapped some cotton cloth around a piece of wood to make a torch.

Diesel is flammable, but hard to ignite. It’s difficult to ignite with a lighter or matches, but can be ignited with a torch.

He also covered the floor with the cotton cloth he had found and soaked them with diesel to make flammable material.

The important thing was that there were thousands of barrels of diesel that occupied the majority of the area in a corner of the warehouse and could fill a few containers.

By chance, cotton cloth was stored here and could be made into torches. The capillary action of the diesel soaked the cotton cloth while the cotton acted like a wick for easy ignition.

A lighter, which he initially ignored, was taken from a corpse. He had to make an extra trip to retrieve it.

He lit the torch, threw it on the ground and watched the diesel soaked cloth slowly catch on fire. He then ran through three warehouses, found a relatively safe looking corner to dig a hole, and jumped in.

That brown-haired man was still using a megaphone to try to persuade him to surrender.

Thousands of armed soldiers were outside the 38 warehouses and watched their assigned areas vigilantly.

Hundreds of soldiers were searching through the center from two opposing directions.

Boom!

Boom! Boom! A series of huge explosions erupted and blew up the warehouses.

Some of the diesel barrels were like fireballs and flew for hundreds of meters before blowing up.

Flying debris from the warehouses and metal fragments from the exploded barrels became powerful weapons that blasted the soldiers gathered outside.

The shock waves from the explosions slammed everyone to the ground.

The whole place was a mess!

The sudden explosion caught everyone off guard.

The flaming diesel barrels that flew over and exploded at close range were like cannon balls. Their power was no different from cannon balls, causing utmost destruction wherever they landed.

The two warehouses next to the warehouse that Ren Baqian had set fire to were engulfed in flames.

At that moment, the main doors of another warehouse were kicked open from the inside. The crowd was still recovering from the shock caused by the explosions when a person pounced on them like a tiger attacking a flock of sheep.

Three seconds.

Without these explosions, Ren Baqian would have been riddled with bullets during these three seconds.

He glided into the crowd, his right hand wielding a spear like a dragon. Sparks flew out with each spark from the spear piercing the throat of someone.

The metal chain in his left hand was like a rope that coiled around the necks of several people. When Ren Baqian exerted his strength, these many people were used as weapons to crash into others.

Many elite soldiers were terrified. This man was like a monster, and they couldn’t keep up with his speed. His strength seemed to be infinite, whereas humans were like straw in his hand.

Everyone started to run away because it would be the end of their lives if they were too close to such a monster.

Ren Baqian zigzagged through the crowd and left many corpses along the way as he advanced about ten meters. Then, he suddenly changed directions and crashed into some bushes 20 meters away.

He covered this distance in less than one second.

Meanwhile, the majority of the soldiers were still trying to establish his position.

Ren Baqian rolled and crawled through the bushes as he moved hundreds of meters away. Abruptly, he rolled to one side to avoid some bullets, ran in a serpentine fashion for dozens of meters, and jumped through the window of a building.
